Corporal Punishment
The Board of Education does not approve of disciplinary measures which make a student an object of ridicule on the part of his/her peers or teachers. Further, the Board of Education does not approve of the administration of corporal punishment to students. Corporal punishment will not be used as a disciplinary action on students in the District. Corporal punishment means the deliberate infliction of physical pain by hitting, paddling, spanking, slapping, or any other physical force used as a means of discipline. However, in accordance with the Revised School Code, reasonable physical force may be used upon a student as necessary to maintain order and control in a school or school related setting for the purpose of providing an environment conducive to safety and learning.
